Hi everyone, I've come asking for a little design advice. At the moment I'm planning on moving out in September of 2011, a date that is thankfully starting to appear on the horizon. I've been dreaming about this for awhile and have already amassed a serious collection of furniture. ( Collapse )
A little extra income from my first ever freelance job as a writer = pretty new Christmas dress from Modcloth.com! Add this to my new hair color (I tried to dye it red red but it came out looking like a warm auburn) plus the very cute (and sexy) accessories I purchased from ASOS.com on sale (with free shipping I may add!!!) including amazingly hot tights that I saw on a girl on the bus the other day and LOVED, and these cute earrings + the high heeled oxfords I'm dying to purchase on my next paycheck = the very best Christmas outfit/present-to-myself I can dream of! I am SO excited.
So I'm one of those people who is still living at home but dreams endlessly about what her place will look like when she finally moves out. I worked at a home decor store for three years and have collected almost all of the furnature I'll need when I finally leave the nest. All that's left is 2 side tables and a coffee table. And look, look what I found! I've been wanting a side table like this for eons. Now all I need is 400$ plus shipping! Oh, and an address in the United States. ;p
Well, I haven't posted as much as I was hoping to, work is going great, I'm really enjoying it and I'm hoping they decide to keep me on after my practicum is completed. But that's not why I'm here, I'm here because it's time for the obligatory Christmas Wishlist post! ( Collapse )
SO, I'm really sad about the Dexter season 4 finale, I don't wanna spoil anyone who hasn't seen it, but for those of you who know what I'm talking about, the usual way I work out my sadness with TV shows is by making countless music videos (See my Youtube channel for examples of my five million Wash/Zoe videos) until I've made peace with it. SO, I'm currently putting together a Dexter playlist to help, and am looking for suggestions.
Check out one of my top songs for season one, Unknown Brother by the Black Keys, here.
The wonderful world of the film and television industry. How I fantasize about you. Currently I'm working in a very tiny corner of this industry which barely even makes a blip -- educational videos. I feel so new to this and oh so green!
I recently finished my first set of scripts for the Emergency Preparedness project and waited two weeks for our new videographer to have time to review them. And what did he say? After, I believe, only loosely reading them he told me, "this would be much easier if you found a video you wanted to emulate online and sent me a link to it." Here I thought that my script would inform how the video looked and felt rather than what someone had already done before me.
After finding a video on youtube I thought I liked we did some screen-tests and built a camera tripod out of taped together DVD boxes before he finally decided that, now that school has started, there are too many people in the hallways to film the videos the way I wrote them and we now ill be transposing all the dialog into a new script which has the narrator in a studio instead of in the halls of the school. Less work, less trouble, and better sound/lighting quality.
*sigh* I wish someone had sat me down when I got here and told me how long it takes to get things rolling (I wrote the scripts at the beginning of August -- before school started -- and it's now the beginning of september) and what we have the capability to produce. (They told me we could do steadycam shots but this videographer guy says that the steadycam rig is too cumbersome to bother with) I can't wait until I've met with my DWL instructor -- I need some insight into the production of documentary film.
So, as most of you know, I haven't made an icon in about a year. Now that I am supremely bored I am going to endeavor to make a few. However, I am at work, not on my laptop, so i don't have any of my textures, gradients, or fancy fonts.
Thus I ask all you icon makers out there to fill me in on what has changed in the iconing world in the last year and suggest some of your favorite textures and fonts. Post a link in the comments and I will obligingly download them for iconing purposes. Also, if you have want to suggest a picture, please do!
